Areas of advice
Six areas, a single file
We do not sell products: we build a coherent structure of cover and keep it up to date over time. Here is what we deal with, and how.
Individuals and families
Cover for private life
For a family living in Ticino, health insurance is by far the heaviest item. But it is the combination of branches — health, assets, pensions — that determines how well you are really protected.
Health and illness
In 2026 the average basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG) premium in Ticino reached CHF 501.50 a month, an increase of 7.1%: the highest in Switzerland. Between the most expensive and the most economical model, for an adult in premium region 1, the difference can exceed CHF 90 a month. It is worth looking into every year.
- Basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG): choice of insurer, of deductible (from CHF 300 to 2'500 for adults) and of model — family doctor, telemedicine, HMO, pharmacy.
- Supplementary insurance (LCA/VVG): semi-private or private ward, complementary medicine, dental treatment, glasses, check-ups, capital during a hospital stay.
- Daily sickness benefits insurance for the self-employed and for employers.
- Premium reduction subsidy (RIPAM): check of entitlement to the cantonal subsidy, which around a third of insured people in Ticino receive.
- Annual review ahead of the 30 November deadline.
- Branch developed in partnership with Due Mila.
Pensions and pillar 3
The state pension (AVS/AHV) and the pension fund cover, at best, around 60% of your final income. The rest depends on what you build yourself — and on how tax-efficiently you do it.
- Pillar 3a: tax deduction of up to CHF 7'258 a year if you belong to a pension fund, and up to 20% of income and a maximum of CHF 36'288 if you do not.
- Retroactive pillar 3a buy-ins: from 2026 it is possible to make up missing contribution years from 2025 onwards.
- Bank / insurance comparison: flexibility against risk cover, with the actual costs on the table.
- Gap analysis in the event of disability, death or early retirement.
- Pillar 3b and unrestricted savings solutions.
- Coordination with the 2nd pillar, LPP/BVG buy-ins and withdrawals for owner-occupied housing.
Life and risk
Risk cover serves one purpose only: to ensure that, if something goes wrong, the people who depend on you do not have to change the way they live. We calculate it on your actual commitments, not on a standard table.
- Capital on death to cover the mortgage or the family's standard of living.
- Disability pension to supplement AI/IV and LPP/BVG benefits.
- Waiver of premium in the event of incapacity to earn.
- Solutions for the self-employed, who are not covered by the employer's compulsory accident insurance.
- Mortgage protection policies required by lenders.
- Review of beneficiary clauses and coordination with inheritance law.
Home and assets
In Ticino a large part of the rental housing stock belongs to private owners. Whether you are a tenant or an owner, liability and contents must be insured for the right sums: almost always they are still those of ten years ago.
- Household contents insurance: sum insured calculated on the actual contents, not estimated by eye.
- Private liability insurance for the whole household, including children and pets.
- Buildings insurance and building owner's liability for owners, coordinated with the cantonal insurance.
- Legal expenses insurance for private life, motoring and tenancy matters.
- Valuables, jewellery, works of art, musical instruments.
- Rental deposit guarantee as an alternative to a bank deposit.
Vehicles and mobility
Ticino is one of the most motorised cantons in Switzerland, with more than 600 cars per thousand inhabitants. The premium depends on the no-claims bonus, the deductible and options that almost nobody reads — and that we do read.
- Compulsory third-party liability and partial or fully comprehensive casco cover.
- Transfer of a no-claims bonus from abroad: the certificate from your previous insurer saves you years of surcharges.
- Replacement value, bonus protection, adjustable deductibles.
- Roadside assistance in Switzerland and in Europe.
- Motorcycles, boats and classic vehicles.
- Company fleets and service vehicles.
Companies and the self-employed
For Ticino SMEs
More than 40'000 companies are active in Ticino and nine out of ten have fewer than ten employees: precisely the size at which nobody looks after insurance full time. That is exactly the space in which we work.
Staff
- Compulsory accident insurance (LAINF/UVG) and supplementary accident cover
- Daily sickness benefits insurance
- Occupational pension (2nd pillar, LPP/BVG): plan analysis and tender
- Cover for executives and key people
The business
- Business and professional liability insurance
- Property, fire, natural hazards, business interruption
- Engineering, machinery, transport and goods
- Cyber risks and data protection
Managing the mandate
- Inventory of policies and risk analysis
- Tender among insurers and premium negotiation
- Centralised claims handling
- Annual report and review of cover
On request we work for a fee rather than on commission, passing on in full the remuneration received from insurers: it is the most transparent arrangement for structured corporate mandates.
Transparency
How we are remunerated
A broker can be paid in two ways: by the insurers, through a commission included in the premium, or by the client, through a fee. Both arrangements are legitimate; what is not permitted is to keep them hidden.
Advice on commission
This is the usual arrangement for private clients. The commission is already included in the premium: the contract does not cost more because it was concluded through BS Assicurazioni. Before the contract is signed we tell you the nature and amount of the remuneration, as provided for by art. 45b ISA.
Advice for a fee
For complex corporate mandates we agree a flat fee or an hourly rate. In that case the remuneration received from insurers is passed on to the client in full.
The limits set by the industry
In the health branch the sector agreement on insurance intermediaries (ASI 3.0) applies, declared binding by the Federal Council with effect from 1 September 2024: remuneration is capped at CHF 70 per person insured under LAMal/KVG and at a maximum of sixteen net monthly premiums for a supplementary insurance contract. Cold calls for promotional purposes are also prohibited and a signed advice record is mandatory.
No advice begins before you know who pays us, how much and for what. If an intermediary does not tell you spontaneously, ask: it is your right.
